11th July, 01st August and 22nd August: Standlschmaus in Valdaora-Olang
Simply take: a mild summer evening, local dishes, delicious delights and snacks, lively music at the various stands and lots of good humour. Mix all the ingredients and you’ll get the „Olanger Standlschmaus“, a special street festival in the village centre of Mitterolang. The bar- and innkeepers of Olang are looking forward to your visit. The event starts at 6 pm in the park of Valdaora.
Summer 2012: The Farmer Markets in the Holiday Region Kronplatz
Around local farmers who specialize in marketing their products directly have stalls with all kinds of delicious local products, including vegetables, fruit, juices, cereals, cheese, bacon, meat and free range eggs, plus herbal products and rustic bread varieties. Everything on sale is grown and produced directly on the farms and cannot be purchased anywhere else. Freshness and quality are of paramount importance.
Brunico-Bruneck: every Friday from May through October (8am to 12.30pm)
San Vigilio-St. Vigil: every Friday in July and August (4pm to 7pm)
San Martino in Casies-St. Martin im Gsiesertal: every Friday from Mid-July to the End of August (10 am to 12.30 pm)
Falzes-Pfalzen: Mid-July to the end of August at “Schlemmershoppen” (evenings)
19th – 28th October: “s’Terner Schmelzpfandl” - grains, cuisine and culture from the Pustertal Valley In the restaurants and alpine inns of Terenten typical ancient delights are on the menu. During those culinary days an interesting supporting program is offered such as guided walks, baking bread, cooking, as well as exhibitions and lots more.
22nd – 23rd May: Giro d‘Italia
On 22 and 23 May 2012 the legendary Giro d'Italia returns to the Pustertal valley, turning the village Falzes-Pfalzen into the grand arena of a Giro stage finish for the third time. Setting off from Denmark on 8 May 2012, the race which has inspired millions of cycling fans will visit Falzes-Pfalzen near Mount Kronplatz in its 16th stage.

23 May: The race continues towards Cortina d'Ampezzo. 17th stage: Setting off from Falzes-Pfalzen, the cyclists have to master four challenging mountain passes in the Dolomites (Valparola, Duran, Forcella Staulanza and Giau) before reaching Cortina d'Ampezzo. For the third time the Giro will stop in Falzes after 1997 and 2004 making the sunny town at the bottom of the Kronplatz, as well as the whole region a place to be during the fabulous Giro days.
9th June: Kronplatz Run & Bike
Another exciting top-class event at Kronplatz: On 9th June 2012, the 3rd International Mountain Run
and bike will see athletes running and cycling from the town of Brunico all the way up to the top of Kronplatz, where in winter times skiers and snowboarders rush down the slopes. Setting off from Brunico Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz), the route will lead the runners to the peak of Kronplatz (2275m) via San Lorenzo, Maria Saalen and the Furkel pass. The last part to be tackled is the notorious and legendary slope of the Giro d'Italia. On a total of 30 km, the athletes will have to master an altitude difference of 1,400m. A unique premiere event for mountain athletes from all over the world.
20th - 24th June: 15. International Choirfestival
Numerous international choruses meet in the Val Pusteria/Pustertal during these 5 days. Concerts
from spiritual to modern music occur throughout the entire valley. Great sceneries surround the musical performances: churches, mountain huts, green valleys and the Dolomites. Almost 100 choirs from all over the world will participate to the extraordinary event. During the last 14 years, since 1998, over 800 choirs and 33.000 singers from 37 nations were present in South Tyrol for the Festival.
29th June – 8th July: South Tyrol Jazzfestival
For the 30th consecutive year South Tyrol is set to stage the South Tyrol Alto Adige Jazz Festival. For
about ten days a varied program of internationally famous jazz greats will make the hearts of music lovers beat that little bit faster. In addition to the regional capital of Bolzano, Vipiteno, Bressanone, Brunico and Merano will also play host to jazz events during the days from 29th June to 8th July.
11th July: Herbert Grönemeyer in concert in Brunico-Bruneck
2012 Schiffsverkehr tour: Herbert Grönemeyer sets sail
After the huge success of his stadium and open-air concerts earlier this year, the outstanding German pop musician Herbert Grönemeyer is back on stage with his brand new album Schiffsverkehr (shipping traffic).The 15-date tour kicks off in May, and 11 July will see the artist perform on Rathausplatz square in the very centre of Brunico-Bruneck. Although the most successful German pop artist of all times usually performs in front of crowds of tens of thousands of fans, the smaller Brunico-Bruneck date is a must-stop and is sure to go down in history as one of his legendary shows. 19th July + 26th July: Cron Music Festival
This year, the very first Cron Music Festival is set to rock the foundations of Valdaora-Olang on two
exciting nights filled with top-class concerts at the Gassl valley station. The festival starts on 19th July with performances by the internationally acclaimed folk and pop stars Marc Pircher, Simone, Andy Borg, Claudia Jung, Andreas Gabalier and DJ Ötzi. On 26 July, the event is rounded off by German pop-rock sensation Silbermond and Germany's new shooting star, Tim Bendzko. Doors open from 5 pm. All concerts start at 8 pm. July and August: Summerconcerts in Brunico - Bruneck
The summer concerts in the renaissance arcade court of the „Ragenhaus“ in Brunico offer
unforgettable ambience which fires the imagination of famous artists as well as that of the audience
to listen to the wonderful sounds. The programme varies from organ recitals, string quartets, brass
to piano concerts and chants.
